Your Best Destination for Digital Photograpy

Film cameras vs. digital cameras

Digital cameras were a breakthrough in photographic technology. In the not so distant past people had to rely on cameras that worked exclusively with film. The film had to be bought after careful consideration and then loaded into your camera. Sometimes it was hard to load while other times it went in with no problem.

If you couldn’t get film to load properly, you had two choice. Either discard the film or you take your chances that your pictures would be able to be developed, because of possible long exposure to light. And after all that you had the option of a roll of film suited for 12 pictures, 24 or 36, which meant that you could not take more than that many pictures, without rewinding the film, and loading (or attempting to load!) another roll of film. When your roll was finished, you had to take it to get developed, which would take time to find out whether your pictures actually came out – or not. Many tears were shed over film cameras and their results. Digital cameras put an end to all that inconvenience.

Digital cameras work by inserting a memory stick into the camera. The camera then takes pictures, and the pictures are stored on the memory stick. How many pictures can be taken depends on how big the memory stick is – that is how much space is on the chip. Most memory sticks allow for at least a hundred pictures.

One big benefit of Digital cameras is that you don’t have to wait until your memory stick is full to see your pictures. Most digital cameras have a screen on them in which you can view the pictures you have taken on the camera itself. Most home computers and laptops also have adapters that will accept a memory stick so you can view the pictures on your computer. Further, most digital cameras can be directly connected to your computer via a USB cable.

Developing digital pictures is also a breeze. You have many choices such as simply loading your photos to an online photo store where you can then pick up the pictures from that store, or have the pictures delivered when they are ready. Another option you have is to take your memory stick out of your digital camera, and stop into a store where they have a photo machine. There you stick your memory card in and the pictures come on to the machine`s screen. You can select which pictures you want or simply select all of them and have them printed out. Also, if you prefer, you can also print your pictures out at home using any of a plethora of inexpensive photo printers.

There are many different kinds of digital cameras you can buy. Some are fairly cheap as they have come down in price since they first appeared, while others have  more features and functions, and can be pretty expensive. You can find a camera in any color, size and style. There are digital cameras that can be hidden in the palm of your hand or can be quite huge. Some digital cameras offer both digital and regular use of film right from the same camera.

The features that can come on a digital camera include, smile shutter technology which is supposed to take a picture when you are smiling and not before or after. Face detection is another option on some digital cameras, it allows you to focus on up to eight faces and give extreme detail. Anti-blink options are there to ensure there are no pictures with closed eyes. Some digital cameras offer a touch screen feature where you can just pick your options and photo style with the ease of a huge screen. You can also find features such as self-timers and Smart AUTO, which makes the complexity of picture taking easier.

When you buy your digital camera you will absolutely love it , there you will be able to find lots of camera accessories and camera bags that will fit your taste and style.
